These are some of my favorite things in the Harrison Home collection.  Please enjoy this sneak peek into our collection storage.

Harrison Capelet

This capelet probably belonged to the daughter Mary Harrison McKee. The image shows the back of the capelet.  It is a rich brown cotton velveteen with rust silk lining. Decorated with glass beads, metallic gold braid,  and velveteen fringe.  It dates from 1889-1892.

Vase

This vase is one of a pair donated to the home from a friend of the family. The donor's father, Mr. Vajen, was commissioner from Indiana to the Vienna Exposition in 1873 in Vienna, Austria. The vase is in two parts, and is white opaque glass probably Bohemian. Romantic figures (a woman with 5 cherubs) decorate the vase. The base is a dark wine color with gold rings at top and bottom.

Some items may not be on display in the museum at all times, but maybe displayed in changing exhibits periodically.
